Support for Business

"A business has to be involving, it has to be fun, and it has to exercise your creative instincts" Richard Branson

Family Businesses

My work in family run businesses has been a new area of development in the last few years. This is an extremely exciting area to work in, where I bring my approach to improving communication and relationships. I recall my father and brother- in- law were both in family run businesses and this proved extremely stressful and impacted on family life. I recently created a small family business with my daughter and I believe I bring this experience to my understanding of how to work through the myriad of complexities. I am passionate about this opportunity to work in this area now.

Family run business’ have a special dynamic and working with transition from one generation to another is crucial. Succession planning is the most painful truth for the family business to face and they face it with difficulty. There are other challenges for family members in finding their identity as separate from their work and in the powerful dynamic of the family, as well as being faced with unresolved family conflicts. How do you become who you are in the context of your family business?

I am conscious of the fragility of the family when put under strain of working together and work with the structures to create some air and space to be creative.

"Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy" Kahlil Gibran

Working With A Changing Environment

We live in an ever changing world, technology changes daily, new ways of working to ensure that we are getting the best results are rampant, downsizing, and bringing fun into our working lives are all part of the landscape. I bring a wealth of experience to this area of work and have developed effective interventions and models of change that are acccessiible and extremely effective.

Change happens whatever we do, but engaging with it, bringing our best selves into the change and influencing the change is all important. Once the change has taken place, revisiting it and ensuring that it sticks is part of my approach. Facing the fear of change and creating the safety for the business and the people to do this, is part of my approach. This is how we develop lasting change. I work in a range of organisations and business who are navigating their way through change.

Coaching in Business

"To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly" Henry Bergeson

Coaching is about change, as a coach I assist the coachee to look at her/his resources and see how they can be used more effectively to achieve his/her goals. Setting well formed outcomes is an important part of this process. Executive coaching and business coaching is an area of work that I am involved in. whether it is within the business or as an outside coach.
